The Cottini family began in the wine business in 1925 when Carlo Cottini founded the firm. Today, it is Michele and Mattia, together with their parents Diego and Annaberta Cottini, who are leading the family business and expanding the vision around producing the best wine possible, with the deepest respect for the landscape.

Azienda Agricola Monte Zovo takes its name from the surrounding hill top on which the name sake winery is set. 140 hectares, currently undergoing organic conversion, range from the Bardolino DOC to the Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG. The crown jewel of their holdings, the Roccolo Vineyard is planted at 500 meters, one of the highest altitude vineyards in the Amarone DOCG. This historic 45-hectare estate consists of limestone soil with a substratum rich in clay, allowing the grapes to ripen, but retain a signature freshness.

The modern winemaking facility, built into the hillside to be in harmony with its surroundings, is 100% self-sufficient using cuttings from grape vine pruning to power a biomass feeder onsite. A state of the art drying or appassimento facility is testament to the recent investments the Cottini family has made in their quest to produce the finest Amarone possible from their terroir.
